Little respite for struggling households as inflation impact continues, says National Debtline

National Debtline responds to inflation rising to 3.8%.

Grace Brownfield, Head of Influencing and Communications at Money Advice Trust, the charity that runs National Debtline, says:

“Inflation remains well above target, meaning there is little respite for many people as pressure on household budgets continues. Persistently high prices for essentials have left many households struggling, pushing even more people into problem debt over time.

“Low-income households need more support from policy makers. Introducing an energy social tariff would go a long way in reducing bills for the poorest households.

“National Debtline can help anyone worried about their finances. Don’t wait – seek free, independent advice as early as possible before debts begin to spiral.”
