Christine Farnish CBE, Chair of Trustees, Money Advice Trust

More than 8 million people are struggling with problem debt, and the cost of living crisis is worsening for households across the UK. Money worries are a heavy burden for many people: our research found that a quarter of UK adults (equivalent to 13.2 million people) are worrying about money every single day.

In this context, our National Debtline and Business Debtline services have never been more badly needed. Our advisers are on the frontline, providing vital, free, independent advice to help people struggling with problem debt.

As one of the UK’s leading debt advice charities, we know the positive impact that seeking support and advice can have for people experiencing financial difficulty. Having won a three year contract from the Money and Pensions Service earlier this year, we are further developing our services to help more people. We are keen to grow our reach and modernise our business model, harnessing the power of new technology, and developing new partnerships across the UK.

Our training already plays a central role in the advice sector and credit industry and we have ambitions to grow this work. We also want to make full use of our data and insights to help change the public policy landscape for the better.

We are looking for a new Chief Executive who can lead us in the exciting next stage of our development. Someone who is passionate about our purpose and will bring outstanding influencing and negotiating skills; experience of delivering quality, value for money services in a commissioned or commercial environment; exceptional partnership building experience; highly evolved political skills and a deeply held commitment to our mission.

If this ambition excites you, we’d love to hear from you.

You can find out more information at www.bit.ly/moneyadvicetrustCEO, with applications open until Sunday 1st October 2023.
